A Year Like No Other

For me, writing was new. I started writing in a word doc during 2021. It was actually about making a new game that I intend to publish. The game is called Enemy 11 and came to me in a single morning. Barely modifying the rules from that morning, I learned how to proceed with making a prototype.

There were two thoughts that I shared at the beginning of the news about covid. First, that we would get through it, because our medical community was both diligent and amazing. Best in the world, and their heart for the care of people was on display. Second, when we came out of this threat, we could do what we did before, but we would have to do them differently.

We now know that everything was different following our shut down, not knowing if we would be able to return to the lives we previously led. I felt that word was describing the world around us, and that those events could shape our society for the future. I was actually wrong about the long term because people were desperate to be completely normal again. So desperate that we paid a heavy price for it. I am now sad thinking about what we went through, how we tried too hard not to change, and the effects upon our newest generation that our actions have had.
