I have entered into game chats for years with that phrase. People know it is me before they even look at the name of who said it. Lots of lines of chat could be rolling through and people will spot my entry to welcome me. I want you to understand that the term people is an all-encompassing term. There is no exclusion hinted there, there is no favoritism underlying the greeting, and it completely overlooks any differences that exist. There is this famous document that starts with “We the people…” So I will stick with it and add one phrase to another part of this document: “we have the right to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness,” and I think all of these encourage us to play games.
I never liked the phrase, “just stop and smell the roses”. Mostly because I took it literally, and to me looking at the roses was better than smelling them. I always wondered what was the big deal about going around smelling things? I have learned that the phrase is expressing the need for us to take time to enjoy the moment, whatever it is that we see, whatever it is that we hear, whatever it is that we smell, whatever it is that we are doing, and whoever it is that we are with. Memories of those moments are huge for having a positive outlook. So is the idea of seeking to have more of those moments. People do not want to be around someone who is dreading the moments of life. We are given a life, to live it to the full, to pursue happiness, and to play games. Have a Happy Friday.
