Life Anew

We Made It
The phrase for 2022 was “Life anew”. A restart. Students were back in school but all of our gathering together was going to prolong the spread. And more people were being exposed. The horror stories by the end of the year were both common and heart-breaking. While the large quantity of lives lost could not be denied, people had bad feelings about being put under any more conditions. So many wanted to return to be exactly like they were before that we knew a battle was coming. The vaccine was at the center of that battle.
My words from the previous year were playing as true. We came through this an we could do what we did before, but we needed to do it differently. Much resistance continued, but there was also a lot of success coming from those changes. Major aspects had changed, like on-line shopping and food delivery that those conveniences would remain.
Unfortunately, those entrenched in the battle against Covid did not experience the previous year in the same way that all of us did who were at home. For my family, our experience led to getting Covid and a life threatening health situation leading to some decisions about the next year. Personally, I developed a paperless math class, perhaps the first of its kind. Embracing new technology was scary and required much effort, but the result was a transition to a new way of teaching and learning. I must add, I do not miss the copy machine.
