Yellow?

Buses represent something interesting in our lives. A group of people crammed together with some common purpose. For adults that could mean trips together to new places, or going to a special event. Mission trips use buses and teams ride buses to the big game.

Little kids think buses are the coolest thing. It is probably the yellow color. What else is identified with yellow in our lives that a little kid sees every day, other than the sun and Big Bird? Fun stuff, right? How come we do not view Taxi cabs as fun like that? I think of an episode of the show “Taxi” and how funny the character Jim Ignatowski was as played by Christopher Lloyd. In one show, two of the characters were renewing their driving written test. Jim did now the answer to the question so he asked the other character “What does a yellow light mean?” When the person responded with “Slow down” Jim looked perplexed. So he repeated the question slowing down his words. This repeated two more times until Jim was holding out each word for 5 seconds. Hilarious scene.

But what I meant to talk about was when Jim was on a mission to make more money by being the best cab driver ever. He began entertaining his riders in various ways. One guy was so entertained that he said he was early enough that they could drive around the block a couple of more times. At the end when Jim had all of the money he wanted he was asked if he would keep doing that. He said no because it was too exhausting. That sums up being somebody that we are not. Too exhausting.
