Puzzle Anyone?

Have you ever seen the game Rush Hour? It is actually more like a puzzle. You are given a set of vehicles on a grid with one opening. Your task is to move the vehicles until you can slide a designated car out the exit and off the grid. It is a puzzle because you are to do this in the least number of moves.

We see puzzles in everyday life. Perhaps you do not see them, but that may also be why you got stuck and were wondering what happened. What is my shortest path through the grocery store which allows me to get all the items that I need in that trip? Actually, not a difficult puzzle. Work left to right and skip the isles with pasta, sauces, dog food, and household goods. Then I try what is my shortest path through Costco which allows me to get all the items that I need in that trip? Until I see some remote control cars, some new books, or Sketchers down an isle and my path is broken. Not a very good example there either.

I had just finished warming up my dinner, chicken with red peppers and stuff, when I looked into the container and thought…..Rush Hour. I proceeded to separate the chicken from those pesky peppers, slide-push, push-push-slide, as well as a few other colored items. Sorry but I don’t do veggies. The colors were separated and the chicken was extracted in clean swooping moves. I was most proud that I did this in the least number of moves. A big success on this puzzle as the chicken was good too.

I like chicken. Have a happy Friday. Remember to subscribe on the Perspectives page.
