Thinking about feet. I am not a barefoot person, and really not even a socks or sandals person. I am comfortable wearing shoes all of the time. My feet are the first part of my body to get cold. I have had too many injuries to even consider going around without covering my feet. But thinking about the items that have injured my feet, they include being jabbed by nails or thumbtacks, cut by glass, and stubbed on the cement. I have gotten bees stings and crayfish claws snapping my feet. I saw a pre-screening of the Hobbit movie when it came out. Awesome fantasy stuff. There are now 6 movies in the series and I noticed something in this one. As the sequence goes on, the Hobbit’s feet seem to get hairier and dirtier. They almost zoom in on the feet in this last one just for the audience reaction to the gross looking feet. I also noticed that no Hobbit ever got a foot injury throughout the entire series. Elves and dwarves wear shoes. Why not Hobbits. I am sure that I would be no better walking in the woods or hills without shoes than I am in yards or on cement. Then there is Bigfoot. He doesn’t wear any shoes either. Maybe I just don’t get it. Let me put it this way; my Happy Friday begins with putting on my shoes. My feet are happy wearing shoes.
Hope you have a Happy Friday. Remember to subscribe in the Perspectives page.
