One summer we took a vacation at a beach resort in Mexico. On a typical pleasant evening walk along the quiet beach we saw an unusual looking gathering around something just into the dry sandy part of the beach. Once we got close enough we could see that there was a sea turtle on the beach digging a hole. She proceeded to lay her eggs over a surprisingly short period of bursts even while the watchers bristled with excitement. When done, the turtle then covered the hole back up, ending with an efficient patting down of the sand with her oversized flippers, before ungracefully sliding her way back to the ocean. Everyone was in awe of the whole process, one within nature that is unlikely to witness, yet takes place regularly. So cool to have the perfect timing for this event, because we did not catch another one during our week there. I was also stunned by this large creature showing no sensitivity at all that we were there around it during this event. A guard from the resort was there explaining how often this happens, and how this has been an increase of their return to the beach there. Once the turtle was out of site swimming its way into the sea, the guard dug out the eggs and moved them to a special spot by the resort for safety.
You can’t tell in life the exact moments when you will see something unique and amazing. But you have to get out. Nature is phenomenal in what it can do, in its power, and its beauty. Our planet has changed from when we were kids and will continue to do so. But that is a whole other perspective. Wishing you full rest, lots of sun, along with a unique and amazing experience for your summer.
