I used to live near the intersection of two streets, one named Nixon and the other named Bluett. It is in Michigan and you can now google it. If I had a cell phone back then I would still have a picture of it. Bet the guy that named these streets had no clue the signs would predict the future.

I was driving on the highway in Michigan one time and saw a sign. It said, “DeWitt exit here.” So I did. There wasn’t anything there. Then my wife told me that was just the name of the city.

There is a DeWitt county in Illinois, with a city named Dewitt. What happened there with the W is beyond me. Seems they have a typical list of street names there, like North Road, East Road, County Road, Lake, Broadway, First, and Market, then they went with trees, such as Walnut, Pine, and Pear Tree Road. However, to my amazement, there is a De Witt City in Arkansas too. I was able to search a bit more and found out that Laurey lives on George street, and Lee lives on Jack street, but James lives on Lee street. Stephanie is on Madison street, while Wallace Tracie lives on Mary Louise Road. Kenneth has a Minor Wrinkle on the Lane, while only people named Bullock live on Robert Bullock Road. Laura Rush is on Rush Lane and Tiffany has a Retriever, who is on the Lane.

I also saw a large sign for DeWitt Construction Company. I turned in there and it was a concrete distribution plant. I asked them for a hat with my name. They said that I would have to mail a request to corporate office and pay $20 for the hat. No wonder I do not see those hats all over NY. Perhaps I will buy one and give them an address in Arkansas. I know, how about Circle Drive in De Witt Arkansas. What do you want to bet that Circle Drive is straight?
