What’s The Catch

I have this waterfront property in Florida that I could sell ya. Cheap! There may be some inhabitants of the area, but they won’t bother you. (see above photo)

The belief is that once there were people who were trying to sell Florida swampland with that phrase. Then it became a line given to someone who was thought to be gullible so that they would consider the catch to a seemingly good offer they had received. An offer that is too good to be true always has a catch.

Come on! Haven’t you fallen for one of those adds which promises that this is the best buy you could ever make? Weight loss products are notorious for their huge promises and low percentage of people experiences those results. This is why the Biggest Loser reality show burned away (pun intended). We found out that what they did was neither sustainable nor reproducible. There are a lot of money scams that work this way as well. Many people contribute the money and a few people make the money. Don’t fall for them.

In fact, they have made a bunch of comedy movies when someone tries to get something cheap that is too good to be true. When it is not true, the humor is in everyone reactions as they try to make something out of the bad situation.

Chevy Chase has made a comedy career out of his Vacations movies which base upon this unfortunate principal. He falls for all of the great deals. How about the movie “I Bought a Zoo”. When would that ever sound like a good idea? Want to have a star named after you? There aren’t two other people on the planet that will ever see the record of that.

I hope that everyone sees you having a Happy Friday.
