Oui AI

I do TV impersonations, sometimes in the classroom. Unfortunately, my favorites are no longer recognized by my current students. And I do not know the ones they would recognize, though I am guessing many would be from U-tube or other social media. The Six Million Dollar man was one of my favorites.

The sound behind his movements made it easy and obvious to imitate. His bionic parts included both legs, one arm, and one eye. By working for the government, he was empowered with spectacular physical qualities of his robotic parts, allowing him to always catch the criminals with super speed, strength, and pin-point eye sight. Since they did not reveal the source of the powers, none of that was suggested to be using computer chips or AI to control those parts. But what if we insert that scenario into our current tech.

Thinking that a robot does not have to look human changes everything. We currently have sensors on cars that point in every direction, so why would a robot not use that to be able to ‘see’ every which way. The usefulness of a camera is to identify people, but that requires an uplink to massive data bases. Instead, sensors allow it to view all objects around so that it can find the best path in a full 360 degrees.

Using an AI in one of these may allow it to complete tasks that it deems necessary, like cleaning tasks, picking up things and returning them to their proper spots, and taking care of the needs of pets.

Okay, need to take this a step further to make it interesting. We have small cameras so I believe that we can make some small moving spies, like bugs. Doubt that we can make one fly yet because of the speed of flapping required, but crawling or jumping should be doable. Then use small drones with sensors to transport them quietly to where they need to enter. This is where the AI could be housed to have the bugs accomplish more complex tasks.

One last suggestion. Put an AI in my recliner so that it can sense when I am exhausted and will automatically rock my backwards to a recovery position. Or is that what they would call part of a ‘Smart House’?

Have a Happy Friday.
