I have never written anything about Tupperware. I try to share things that are humorous, interesting, encouraging, and good story telling. Tupperware is none of those. It has a most basic purpose, yet I feel I have a relationship with my Tupperware. It put the food in it, it keeps the food in while keeping everything else out. It allows the food to get cold while inside the fridge, and it allows me to heat the food up after taking it out. We both do our part, and both go on content in our purpose in life. Not saying my purpose is to eat, just that I need to eat to get to my purpose. But you know what I mean.
Since my writing is about perspectives, seeing things in true relationship, it seems to me that the most important aspect to this topic is how to use Tupperware. Shockingly, there is plenty online (I doubt this is a shock to anyone) to tell us about what we should or should not do when it comes to this wonderful invention. While these near miraculous items fulfill their purpose with ease, it is us who can screw up their performance and decimate their value.
To me, food in the fridge must be covered food. No open containers as smells go everywhere and you want to seal in the freshness. Food data tells a different story.
Food does not care or pull in the scent from other foods. The one important fact is the temperature of the food needs to get to below 42 degrees as quickly as possible, get this, before sealing it. Drop the mic, we are done. Now I know that I did not know how to do a simple task such as placing my food into the fridge.
So when you bring home the Chipotle that you did not finish, put it in the fridge. Uncovered. Then remember to go back and bring that handy thermometer (good thing my wife just bought one for me to check our grilled food temps) to be sure the food is below 42 so you can cover it before going to bed. Your food is now perfect.
Have a Happy Friday.
