My grandson would yell out, “Mom watch this!” She could be in another room and yell back, “Watching!” Being totally satisfied he stood out, the 3 yr old would continue with his adventure.

I spent a lifetime trying not to stand out. In most crowds I am far more comfortable being a fly on the wall rather than the center of attention. In teaching one has to portray a presence that demands notice, yet there are different ways to do that. Working from my word of the year, 2025 Stand Up, Step In, Stand Out, the third of this does not automatically follow from the first two. Read the first two entries called Up You Go and I’m Going In.

To reach the Stand Out status requires some action. Some inner part of you must take hold of this opportunity to unleash what your best. With no guarantee that a flop or a failure will not occur, you must put your whole self into the process.

Stand Out with the attitude you show throughout a difficult situation. Show wisdom because you see things in true relationship, or perspective. Excitement gets noticed right along side of determination. Be a student of the process makes you first in the class. Make a plan and be full of hope in that you put research and ideas into your plan. None of these are skill or intelligence based so we all have them to use in spattering partial quantities, or can blast them out in excessive mode. This is how you were made. Be move ever is to be who you are.
