Hey people! I have entered into game chats for years with that phrase. People know it is me before they even look at the name of who said it. Lots of lines of chat could be rolling through and people will spot my entry to welcome me. I want you to understand that the term people is an all-encompassing term. There is no exclusion hinted there, there is no favoritism underlying the greeting, and it completely overlooks any differences that exist. There is this famous document that starts with “We the people…” So I will stick with it and add one phrase to another part of this document: “we have the right to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness,” and I think all of these encourage us to play games.
